Antarctica Nov 2008 My very deep gratitude for my friendship with Claire Beynon who went on two excursions to the Antarctic on trips led by Dr Sam Bowser of the American polar research team. On the second trip in 2008 Claire and Sam took my work onto the ice to make sound recordings, to dive under the ice and to photograph the vessels in that wonderous landscape. It was this collaboration which influenced my awareness about placing vessels in the landscape.
