Inside and out
The sea is hot and restless.
Drops of glass traveling through
the shimmering walls
that I have sprung and flung
over and over –
Five times
Into the heart of the heat.

My hands have traveled these surfaces
Embedding every dance of light and foam;
The tossings of life’s glee,
The sand and grit
They swirl together
And I long.

So much, so much
My mind swings towards
you – that is me.
Longing through
Every trembling facet of colour
Spun glass, arrested
only at the moment
Where all is in balance
And the heat momentarily
withdraws.

I fling these drops
Out, back into the ocean
Which is all of us.
All I can do for now,
With this sea inside.
